Two people were killed in a three-car crash on Tuesday afternoon in neighboring Fairfield County.

The accident happened at around 1 pm on SC 34 near Memory Lane.

A Toyota Corolla was traveling west on SC 34 when the driver tried to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, a state trooper said.

The car hit an eastbound Dodge Journey head on, causing the Dodge to spin out and then hit an eastbound Buick SUV.
