The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) along with its prime contractor, Eurovia Atlantic Coast, is expected to begin work on an Interstate Preservation Project along I-26 through Newberry and Laurens Counties. Work is expected to start on November 12, 2019.
Crews will begin replacing four inches of asphalt during the daytime hours. Drivers should expect lane closures once work begins through April 2020, and then nighttime work will begin May 2020 until the completion date of August 31, 2020.
