At around 6 pm on Tuesday, law enforcement shared information that authorities were searching for a light skinned African American female in the area of Whitner Road and College Street in Newberry.

The female had allegedly been chasing a male, and also fired gunshots at him several times near the Citgo gas station on College Street.

This was reported as a domestic-type situation.

Later in the evening, having acted on a tip from a witness, deputies found the suspect and took her into custody.

Marshanna Anderson was arrested in the industrial park near the incident location and she will face charges for assault on the victim.

No injuries were reported during this incident.
