Newberry County Coroner’s Office along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Sunday November 24. The call was received to 911 Communications at 3:45 AM, and the motor vehicle collision occurred on Broad River Road and SC Highway 213 in Pomaria.

Coroner Laura Kneece, has identified Charley David Folk, Jr., 51, of Pomaria, as the decedent in the motor vehicle collision. An autopsy has been scheduled for this week.

There was no evidence that Mr. Folk was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
This incident remains under investigation of the Newberry County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol and South Carolina MAIT.
