As we reported yesterday morning and with a confirmation later yesterday, two students were hit Monday morning while attempting to cross the street near Newberry High School. This incident took place shortly before the start of school on Monday.

The two students were hit at the crosswalk near the Burger King across from the high school. The driver then pulled into the high school parking lot to wait for authorities.

Those students were taken to Prisma’s Trauma Center with non life-threatening injuries.

It is not known at this time if charges have been filed, and it is unclear if the students were in the crosswalk or at the crosswalk at the time of the accident.
