Two Arrested In Stolen Vehicle Incident At Citgo
As we reported, the two suspects that stole an unattended vehicle at the Citgo on Wilson Road have been captured after an all-night chase.
Deputies using K-9 units and a helicopter searched late in the evening on Monday night. However, the cold of the night proved their downfall.
A deputy spotted a fire in a barrel at what he though was a vacant property. Upon arrival he saw two people nearby that matched the description. They were taken into custody without further incident.
The two arrested were Christopher D Woodard, 28 (listed as homeless) and Ashley N. Clark 25, of Ninety Six.
Both are in the Newberry County Detention Center awaiting bond on charges of Auto Theft and Larceny.
During the initial search it was determined that a handgun was taken from the vehicle along with an iPad. The handgun was found by the K-9 team while they were pursuing the suspects. The iPad was still in the possession of Clark.
