A collision involving a tractor-trailer truck resulted in a fatality on Tuesday morning.

The incident happened close to 9:30 am on Tuesday near mile marker 72 on I-26.

According to SC Highway Patrol Trooper Brandon Bolt, the driver of a tractor-trailer truck, a 32-year-old male from Walterboro, was driving westbound when he changed lanes, striking a Dodge Ram that was also driving westbound.

The driver of the Dodge Ram veered off the side of the road eventually hitting the cable barrier. This caused the driver to be ejected from the vehicle, and the driver died from the injuries.
