A discovery during a traffic stop in the Macedonia/Dreher Island/Holland’s Landing area has resulted in the arrest of a Prosperity man.
A Sheriff’s deputy patrolling that area saw a Nissan Armada operating erratically and without a license plate. This was on Doc Fulmer Road off of Macedonia Church Road.
As the deputy conducted the traffic stop, it was determined that the driver was operating that vehicle under suspension.  The deputy also saw narcotics and drug paraphernalia in plain view.
A thorough investigation revealed the suspect possessed 6.7 grams of methamphetamine, an additional bag containing 2.9 grams of marijuana, and over $12,000 in cash.
Shannon Dewayne Jenkins, 48, of Prosperity, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving Under Suspension.
Jenkins was taken to the Newberry County Detention Center, where a bond has been set.
