Tanker Truck Runs Off I-26 Causing Ethanol Leak
A tanker truck ran off the shoulder of I-26 eastbound near mile marker 85 (Little Mountain exit) on Saturday night.
The truck contained ethanol and had an active leak from a valve. Ethanol is highly flammable and it burns with a nearly invisible flame. Due to the leak and the position of the truck in the road, all traffic in that area had to be detoured.
Bravery efforts from emergency responders in fire, rescue, EMS, hazardous materials (HAZMAT), law enforcement and salvage/recovery companies helped with the cleanup.
