SCAM: Callers Impersonating Law Enforcement
SCAM ALERT!
Be aware of people calling impersonating law enforcement.
Some threaten jail time if a fine is not paid for missing jury duty. Others will threaten people to pay money because they had been looking at pornographic sites. The criminals may even use real names of judges and police officers, which is readily available off the internet.
These thieves often ask for Bitcoin or gift cards. A reminder that members of law enforcement do not call people and ask for fines, and they also do not use Bitcoin or gift cards.
Hang up on these unscrupulous people.
