A piece of military ordinance (explosive) was found off Colony Church Road.

There is no criminal intent involved and it appears to be a disgarded military relic.

Explosive Experts from SLED and Shaw Air Force Base were on the scene Monday evening to dispose of the shell.

Residents in the Colony Church Road area may have heard a muffled explosion due to the disarming, but there was no danger to anyone.
