Mid-Carolina Grads To Be “On Parade” On May 31
Due to the cancellation of the Baccalaureate Service, the Town of Prosperity will provide police escort and road closures for a special parade for the 2020 Mid-Carolina graduates. This is scheduled for Sunday, May 31, at 3:00 pm on Main Street in downtown Prosperity.
The parade route will begin at the Dixie Youth / Pony League Field parking lots on Main Street across from the Bi Lo and will travel south up main street ending at Rikard School Road.
To make this a success please help us by:
• Share / tag all seniors and parents via social media,
• Participate – Have Fun
• Adhere to all laws, ordinances, and COVID- 19 guidelines
Graduates:
• Be at the starting point at 2:30 PM for line up beginning at the Dixie Youth Field
• Follow instructions for lining up – as you arrive, you will be instructed as to line up
• Decorate cars and trucks respectfully – do not impede your vision of the vision of others
• Stay near your car – this is not a social gathering event (see next bullet point!)
• Adhere to COVID 19 guidelines for social distancing
• Adhere to COVID 19 guidelines for social distancing…repeat!
• Only one graduate per car (see previous bullet point!)
• No music or loud devices
• No candy tossing or any other item from vehicles
Parade Goers:
• Decorate signs / banners in support of our graduates
• Ensure COVID 19 guidelines are always followed – 6 feet apart, etc.
• Park in marked spots or public parking throughout town – stay in cars if you feel unsafe to be around others
• Be courteous of others and their ability to enjoy the parade
• HAVE FUN!
COVID 19 GUIDEANCE FOR PUBLIC GATHERING
• Stay 6’ away from others
• Don’t create a crowd – there is plenty of room along the route to space out
• Cover your cough and sneeze into a tissue or use the inside of your elbow
• STAY HOME if you are sick – we know this is a special event, but if you are sick – stay home
• Wear a mask / cloth face covering to help slow the spread of the virus
