The Newberry Historical Society has a new exhibit at the Coppack house on Nance Street: an 1874 steam engine made by the Frick Co. of Pennsylvania.
The steam engine was purchased by the Leitzsey family of Pomaria for their sawmill in the 1870s. It was brought to their farm by mules down Hwy 176 when it was a dirt road.
The Historical Society would like to thank the Leitzsey family for their donation and Jacobs Carports for moving it to its new home.
