Governor Henry McMaster issued Executive Order 2024-16, declaring a State of Emergency on Sunday, August 4, in preparation for the potential effects of Tropical Storm Debby.
McMaster is asking South Carolinians to monitor local forecasts and to begin taking proper precautions as the executive order activates the South Carolina Emergency Operations Plan.
McMaster added, “with a potentially significant rainfall event forecast for the next few days, it is critical that residents in potentially affected areas start making preparations and plans today—in case it is necessary to take quick action.”
