The Newberry County Voter Registration and Elections Board has set the 2026 Democratic and Republican primaries for Tuesday, June 9. If any races require a second round, runoff elections will take place on Tuesday, June 23.

To vote in these elections, residents must be registered by Sunday, May 10. Mailed registration forms will count if they are postmarked by Monday, May 11.

Early voting will run from Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, June 5, at the Newberry County Voter Registration and Elections Office, located at 1892 Wilson Road. The office will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm during that period.

All voters must show a valid Photo ID when voting. Accepted IDs include a South Carolina Driver’s License, an ID card from the SC Department of Motor Vehicles (SC DMV), a SC Voter Registration Card with Photo, a Federal Military ID, or a US Passport. Anyone without a Photo ID can get one free of charge from their county voter registration office or the DMV.
