An early morning fight with shots fired on Jalapa Road caused the Whitmire Community School to go on Secure Alert Status.

The fight did not involve the school but was in proximity and the suspect fled in the direction of the school.

A responding deputy saw the suspect vehicle and quickly detained the suspect.

Whitmire Community School was on hold only a few minutes. The incident leading to this situation is under investigation. The school was not directly involved.
