The Newberry County Coroner’s Office along with Newberry County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, October 27, at approximately 2:05 am at Hartford Community Center located SC Highway 359 in Newberry County.

Coroner Laura Kneece has identified Jared Darnell Singley, 38, of Newberry as the victim in the early morning shooting incident. An autopsy is scheduled for October 28.

This incident remains under investigation by the Newberry County Coroner’s Office and Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.
