City Council Gives First Reading To Allow Golf Cart Operations At Night
At the Newberry City Council meeting Tuesday night, City Council gave first reading to allow golf carts to operate at night.
The legislature passed a law this year allowing local governments to authorize nighttime operations.
Under the ordinance in Newberry, golf carts could operate until midnight if they have all lights, including blinkers, and adhere to all other state regulations. Children under 12 years of age must be buckled in. Final reading will be held in November.
