As we have been reporting since early Friday afternoon, an arrest has been made in the Hit and Run incident that occurred on Wednesday evening just after 11 pm near Prosperity.

Jesus Ramirez, 19, of Newberry, was the driver of the 2013 Nissan Altima that struck and killed a bicyclist on Highway 76 near Colony Church Road in Newberry County. The driver and the vehicle fled the scene after the collision.

Ramirez is being held in the Newberry County Detention Center and is awaiting bond.
