As we reported on Thursday afternoon, businesses have been receiving calls from an individual who says that he is with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office. This person demands personal information on employees.

This is a scam and it NOT a representative from the Sheriff’s Office.

The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office reminds you that they would not call in this manner.

If you do get a call of this nature, hang up and call to verify.
