Foster Honored With Community Legacy Award

Sheriff Lee Foster was honored with the prestigious Community Legacy Award during a special banquet hosted by the Omicron Lambda Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, recognizing his longstanding dedication to public service and commitment to the citizens he serves.

The formal celebration was held on the campus of Newberry College and brought together community leaders, family members, and supporters for an evening highlighting service, leadership, and community impact.

The event was emceed by Von Gaskin of WIS TV, who guided the program and recognized the achievements of each honoree.

Also receiving awards during the ceremony were Earlean Williams Boles, Freddie Chalmers, and Sandra Elizabeth Davis Riley, each recognized for their meaningful contributions and service to the community.

Also in attendance was Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers, a teammate and close friend of Freddy Chalmers. George Rogers was also a classmate of Sheriff Lee Foster while at The University of South Carolina.

The Community Legacy Award is presented to individuals whose leadership, integrity, and sustained service leave a lasting and positive impact on the people and communities they serve.

“This recognition means more to me than I can fully express,” said Sheriff Foster. “To be honored by an organization with such a strong legacy of service and scholarship is truly humbling. I’ve always believed that serving others is both a duty and a privilege, and I share this honor with the dedicated men and women I work alongside every day and the community we are proud to serve.”

The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity is an international brotherhood founded on the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service, with chapters across the nation committed to uplifting their communities through civic engagement and leadership.
