Samsung Announces New President/CEO
Samsung announced that Seong-ho Ahn was appointed as the new President & Chief Executive Officer of Samsung Electronics Home Appliances America (SEHA) in Newberry, South Carolina. Ahn comes to South Carolina from manufacturing facilities in Poland and India where he served as manufacturing leader with Samsung.
“I’m honored to step into this role and join an exceptional team here at SEHA,” said Ahn. “With the strong foundation this team has built, we are positioned to expand our capabilities, enhance our products, and reinforce Samsung’s commitment to American manufacturing.”
The Newberry facility became the company’s first U.S.-based home appliance manufacturing facility. It’s an essential part of the local economy generating over $926 million economic impact in South Carolina, produced 7.9 million washing machines and now directly supports over 1,300 jobs for local residents as part of its ongoing operations.
“Ahn brings valuable experience to the table that will be of great benefit to Samsung,” said Thomas Komaromi, General Counsel. “His successful record and knowledge in operational excellence and culture building are essential as we continue to grow our U.S. footprint. We are confident that his vision and leadership will guide SEHA into its next phase of excellence.”
