UPDATE: Fatality Crash On Bush River Road, Driver Identified
UPDATE: Newberry County Coroner Laura Kneece has identified Nicholas Phillips, 27, of Kinards as the victim who died in a single car motor vehicle collision on Sunday morning. The collision occurred in the 8900 block of Bush River Road in the Kinards area of Newberry County.
An autopsy has been requested and will be performed this week.
This incident remains under investigation through Newberry County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A single car crash happened on Bush River Road (about three miles east of Newberry) on Sunday morning, resulting in a fatality.
According to Sergeant Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the driver of a 2014 Nissan Versa was traveling east on Bush River Road at around 8 am Sunday morning, when the driver traveled off the right side of the road, striking a pole and then a church sign.
The driver was the sole occupant of the car and died at the scene of the crash.
