After Newberry County Sheriff’s Deputy patrolling SC Highway 34 near I-26 stopped a vehicle for speeding, he noticed a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and also saw drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was detained and a subsequent search yielded trafficking quantities of cocaine, scales, and firearms, along with an extended magazine. The firearms were not serialized. Also seized was a quantity of cash money. Several of the bills were rolled tight, which is a common way of using them to ingest cocaine through the nostrils.

Russell James Inscho, 37, of Chappells, was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of a weapon during a crime classified as violent, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and speeding.

He was taken to the Newberry County Detention Center where he awaits bond.
