Newberry City Police and Newberry Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a possible car jacking/robbery in the Eleanor/Wise Street area.

Deputies responded to the scene to assist police officers and spotted the victim’s vehicle on Wilson Road. They stopped it at Kibler’s Garage.

Dispatch then reported that another vehicle was involved and was traveling in the same direction.

Deputies and police officers saw that vehicle  turning onto Jollystreet Road, and the vehicle subsequently ran into the area of the deputies.

Two suspects were taken into custody, and the Newberry Police Department is working on a detailed investigation.
