Victim Identified In Wednesday’s Fatal Collision
As we reported yesterday, a collision resulting in a fatality happened on Wednesday morning at around 6:35 am. The collision occurred on US Highway 176 near New Hope Road, about a mile west of Pomaria.
The Newberry County Coroner’s Office, along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, are investigating the double vehicle collision.
Coroner Laura Kneece has identified Calvin J. Anstey, 28, of Irmo as the decedent in the collision. An autopsy has been scheduled for this week. Per emergency personnel on scene, Mr. Anstey was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
This incident remains under investigation of the Newberry County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
