Silverstreet Chip Mill To Close
From the Forestry Association of South Carolina social media on Monday morning:
“Sylvamo and International Paper have made the strategic decision to close the Silverstreet Chip Mill. This was a very difficult and challenging decision as we know this will impact many people around the Silverstreet area.
We appreciate everyone that has contributed to the success of this facility over the years and we will do all we can to support this area going forward.
Silverstreet will stop buying hardwood roundwood on May 29, 2025.
The Eastover supplier reps will work with suppliers to redirect hardwood roundwood to the Eastover Mill from the Silverstreet area.”
