On Wednesday, February 12, Sgt. Will Bouknight and K9 Kira were tasked with completing the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) tracking certification course.

They then completed their National Narcotics Detector Dog Association (NNDDA) re-certification for the third year.

Sgt. Bouknight is very excited and proud to say that they “smashed” both, meeting 100% of the requirements.

Kira now holds 2 national certifications and is still the only narcotics K9 in Newberry County, as well as her now being certified in tracking through the same organization and standards that SLED uses.
