A 2019 Toyota SUV was traveling south on State Park Road when it struck a pedestrian walking along the road. This incident happened just after 6 pm in the Prosperity area of Newberry County, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Hannah Davidson.

The pedestrian succumbed to injuries on the scene.

This is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
