As we reported on Thursday afternoon, Newberry College released the following statement:

There has been an incident in Kaufmann Hall, involving a student and a campus dining employee. The student is receiving medical attention. The employee is currently in custody, and the knife has been secured.

This appears to be an isolated incident, and the campus community is not in danger.
