Newberry County Coroner’s Office along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday, July 14. The call was received to 911 Communications at approximately 4:15 pm Tuesday. The collision occurred on I-26 eastbound at around mile marker 79 here in Newberry County.

Coroner Laura Kneece, has identified Zachery Fennessy, 28, of Goose Creek, South Carolina as the victim in this motor vehicle collision.

An autopsy has been scheduled for this week. There was no evidence that Mr. Fennessy was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

This incident remains under investigation of the Newberry County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
