Friday Fatal Crash; Driver Identified
Newberry County Coroner’s Office along with South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a single vehicle collision that occurred in the afternoon hours of June 10, 2022. The call was received by 911 Communications at approximately 12:41 pm. The collision occurred on South Carolina Highway 176 near Big Pine Road in the Pomaria area of Newberry County.
Coroner Laura Kneece has identified Malcolm “Steve” Millwood, 76, of Whitmire, South Carolina as the decedent in the collision. An autopsy showed that Mr. Millwood suffered blunt force injuries due to the collision. Mr. Millwood was wearing his seat belt.
This incident remains under investigation of the Newberry County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
