Newberry firefighters responded to a house fire at 2027 Piedmont Street this morning shortly after 2 am.

All occupants were able to escape without injury.

The fire involved approximately 40% of the home and there was significant fire, heat, and smoke damage throughout the structure.

There were no injuries to firefighters, and the cause of this fire is still under investigation.

The American Red Cross is assisting two adults and one child.
