Fatality Victims Identified In Friday Afternoon Collision
UPDATE:
The Newberry County Coroner’s Office, along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, are investigating a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred Friday afternoon. The call was received by 911 Communications at approximately 3:15 pm, and the collision occurred on SC 121/34 near Industrial Park Road in Newberry County.
Coroner Laura Kneece has identified Jasmine Rosas (17), driver, and Jason Santos (17), passenger, of Saluda in vehicle one and Colin Kittrell (21), driver, of Greer, in vehicle two. All were pronounced on scene by the Coroner’s office. All three decedents were wearing their seat belts. Autopsies has been scheduled.
This incident remains under investigation of the Newberry County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol and South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT.

A Friday afternoon collision near the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Newberry County resulted in three fatalities. The collision happened on SC Hwy 34 near Hwy 121 (2.8 miles south of Newberry) at around 3 pm on Friday afternoon.
The driver and passenger of a 2016 Nissan Sentra, as well as the driver of a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, were all wearing seatbelts and had to be mechanically extricated from the vehicles. All three died at the scene of the collision.
According to SC Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, both vehicles had been traveling on SC Hwy 34 when they struck each other.
The accident also caused that area of SC Hwy 34 to be closed until Friday evening.
The collision is under investigation of the SC Highway Patrol and the MAIT Unit.
