UPDATE: The individual sought in connection with the credit card theft and fraud has been identified and charges are pending.

Friday’s original story: The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance in locating a suspect who stole an credit card and used at two Newberry area businesses.

The individual stole a credit card while at the Citgo on the corner of Wilson Road and Evans Street, just outside the Newberry City Limits. The suspect then utilized the card to purchase goods at the Food Lion and Sonic both on Wilson Road in the City of Newberry.
