A Disaster Recovery Center is open in Newberry County to provide in-person assistance to people applying for FEMA federal disaster assistance following Hurricane Helene.

The center is located at 275 General Henderson Road in Newberry, and will be open today (January 24), Monday (January 27), Tuesday (January 28), and Wednesday (January 29), from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

As we have been reporting, the deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is Tuesday, January 28. But on Wednesday, January 29, the specialists can still assist, as they have been doing, with moving applications along in the system.
