Victim Identified In Pedestrian Vs. Vehicle Collision
UPDATE: Newberry County Coroner Laura Kneece has identified the victim in the pedestrian vs. vehicle collision on Tuesday night as Javonte D. Gallman, 29, of Newberry. The collision occurred on June 30, near US 76 and Colony Church Road in the Prosperity area of Newberry County.
An autopsy has been requested and will be performed this week.
This incident remains under investigation through Newberry County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.

As we reported on Wednesday afternoon, a pedestrian was struck and killed at around 11:15 pm in Newberry County on Tuesday evening.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, this incident happened on US Highway 76 at Colony Church Road.
A 2004 Lexus SUV was traveling west on Highway 76, and a pedestrian was traveling in that same direction when the SUV struck and killed the pedestrian.
This is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
